General Feature Information

Feature Name: Change Status Service

Feature Overview:

OTO provides a service that enables you to update key shipment statuses, allowing you to modify the statuses of your orders as needed. If an order was created with a shipping company under your own contract, you can update its status to "Delivered," "Returned," or "Picked Up," depending on its current state. However, this option is not available for shipments processed through OTO’s discounted rates.


How to Use the Feature

Step-by-Step Instructions

To Change A Shipment Status to Delivered:

  1. Navigate to Shipments > Pending Orders in the side menu

  2. Select the order/shipment that you want to change the status of

  3. Click the “Orders” button

  4. Choose the “Mark As Delivered” option

To Change A Shipment Status to Picked Up:

  1. Navigate to Shipments > Awaiting Pickup in the side menu

  2. Select the order/shipment that you want to change the status of

  3. Click the “Orders” button

  4. Choose the “Mark As Picked Up” option.





To Change A Shipment Status To Returned:

  1. Navigate to Shipments > Delivered in the side menu

  2. Select the order/shipment that you want to change the status of

  3. Click the “Orders” button

  4. Choose the “Mark As Returned” option.

Please note that you need to add a reason when you mark as returned a shipment.

To Access Reasons for “Mark As Returned”

  1. Navigate to the Settings Advanced- > Reason Config.

  2. Click the “Add Reason” button.

  3. Choose the Reason type as return.


















Troubleshooting and FAQs

Common Issues and Solutions:

Issue: Can not change a shipment’s status as delivered or picked up or returned.

Solution: Be sure that the shipment is created by your own agreements, if it is OTO’s agreements you do not have these options available.


Issue: There is no reason list when mark as returned.

Solution: You need to add the reasons in the “Settings” > “Reasons” tab.

Q: Do I need to provide a reason when marking a shipment as returned?


A: Yes, when you mark a shipment as returned, you are required to provide a reason. Make sure to enter a valid reason in the designated field before confirming the status change.


Q: Can I change the status of shipments created by OTO's agreements?

A: No, the "Change Status Service" is only available for shipments made with delivery companies you have a contract with. Shipments created under OTO's agreements cannot have their status changed.

Q: Can I change an order’s status without shipment create?

A: Yes, you can change the order’s status as delivered, picked up and returned without shipment.
