Compliance with the National Address (العنوان الوطني) system in Saudi Arabia is mandatory for all parcel shipments starting January 1, 2026. The General Transport Authority (TGA) has mandated that all logistics and parcel delivery companies must include the National Address on all mail shipments. This article provides a step-by-step guide for obtaining your National Address and ensuring your logistics operations are compliant on the Tryoto platform.
What is the National Address and why is it Mandatory?
The National Address is a standardized, precise addressing system developed by the Saudi Post (SPL) to replace traditional descriptive addresses in the Kingdom.
How to Register for Your National Address (Short Address)
Both individuals and businesses must register for a National Address. The registration is free for individuals, but a fee applies for businesses (refer to the SPL website for current corporate rates).
Step 1: Access the SPL Platform
You can register your National Address through the official Saudi Post (SPL) platforms:
SPL Online Website: Go to the official SPL website and select the National Address service.
SPL App
Step 2: Create or Log in to Your Account
New Users: Click on "Register" and select "Individual" or "Enterprise" (Business Sector).
You will be prompted to fill in required data, such as your Saudi ID/Iqama number (for individuals) or Commercial Registration (CR) number (for businesses), date of birth, mobile number, and email.
Existing Users: Log in using your registered credentials or through the Nafath National Single Sign-On service.
Step 3: Register Your Location
In the National Address section, click "Add Address".
Locate your address: You can either search for your address or directly select your location on the interactive map. The system will auto-populate the geographical details of the selected location.
Complete Building Details: Fill in additional required information, such as the Unit Type (e.g., house, apartment, duplex) and Type of Ownership (e.g., owned or leased). You may also be asked to upload a photo of the building (as shown in the video).
Review and Confirm: Review all the entered details and confirm the registration.
Step 4: Obtain Your Short Address Code
Once registered, you will be able to view and retrieve your full National Address details, including the crucial Short Address (الرمز المختصر). This 8-character code (4 letters and 4 numbers) is what is needed for quick logistics compliance.
Adding the National Address in OTO
Once you have obtained your Short Address from the SPL platform, you must add it to the relevant locations on the OTO platform, especially your warehouse/pickup locations and your customers' delivery addresses.
1. For Your Shipping Origin/Warehouse (Shipper Address)
Log in to your Account.
Navigate to Settings.
Go to the Warehouses/Locations section.
Find the warehouse you want to update and click the three dots to edit the details.
Locate the field designated for the Short Address (National Address Code).
Paste your 8-character Short Address (e.g., EMDA5321) into the field.
Click Save. The system will use this information for all new shipments originating from this location.
Attached is a screenshot that guides you on how to fill the short address:
2. For Your Customer's Delivery Address (Consignee Address)
When creating a new order or editing an existing one, ensure the Short Address is included in the address details.
You must collect the consignee's Short Address from them and include it in the designated address field when booking the shipment on Tryoto.
Without a valid Short Address, your shipment may be rejected by logistics providers or experience significant delays after the January 1, 2026 deadline.
National Address Components
The full National Address contains several components, but the most important one for quick logistics processing and the one to add in OTO is the Short Address which contains 4 letters with 4 numbers.
Component Description:
Short Address (الرمز المختصر): The required 8-character code (4 letters + 4 numbers).
Building Number: A unique 4-digit number.
Street Name: The name of the street.
District/Neighborhood: The name of the area.
Postal Code: A 5-digit number.
City: The city name.
