Select Orders: The First Step

The first page of the Wave Creation Pilot focuses on selecting orders for your wave. It provides powerful filtering options to help you group orders strategically. Here’s how it works:

Filter Options

  1. Warehouse (Required)

    • You must select a warehouse where the orders will be processed. This ensures that only orders assigned to this warehouse are displayed.

  2. Type of Orders (Optional)

    • While not mandatory, this filter allows you to group orders based on their type:

      • Single Item Orders: Orders containing one item each.

      • Identical Orders: Orders with the same SKUs.

      • Multiple Item Orders: Orders containing various items.

      • Unique Orders: Orders with distinct SKU combinations.

Order Data Summary

Once the filters are applied, the screen displays key metrics for the selected orders:

  • Number of Orders: Total orders that meet the filter criteria.

  • Number of SKUs: Unique SKUs across the selected orders.

  • Total Quantity: Total number of items across all selected orders.

Order Table

The table lists all eligible orders based on your filters, providing details such as:

  • Order ID

  • SKUs in the order

  • Quantities per order

  • Total Quantity

You can manually select orders from the table or use the filters to narrow down your choices. Once you’re satisfied with the selection, click Next Step to proceed to the wave configuration page.

Create Wave: Configuring the Wave

After selecting your orders, you move to the second page to define the wave structure and assign responsibilities. Let’s break it down:

Fields to Configure

  1. Order IDs (Auto-Filled)

    • This field lists the orders you selected in the previous step. It’s read-only and confirms what’s included in the wave.

  2. Wave Type (Required)

    • Choose the type of wave based on your operational needs:

      • Wave: A single batch for picking.

      • Zone Wave: Picking is divided into zones within the warehouse.

  3. Assigned Picker (Required

    • Assign a picker to the wave directly.

  4. Sorting Needed? (Optional)

    • Toggle this option if sorting is required after picking. Sorting organizes items per order, making packing more efficient.

Completing the Wave

Once all fields are configured:

  1. Double-check the details.

  2. Click the Create button to finalize the wave.

The system will validate your input and create the wave. If any required fields are missing, you’ll be prompted to complete them before proceeding.
