  1. Learn how to add a new warehouse.

  2. Discover the importance of each configuration step, from location to working hours.

  3. Unlock key features like user access and picker team assignments.

Let’s get started!

1. Why Warehouse Configuration Matters

Imagine a warehouse where everything runs like clockwork—orders are picked on time, SLAs are met, and your team knows exactly what to do. That’s the power of proper warehouse configuration. It allows you to:

  • Optimize fulfillment and delivery operations.

  • Accurately calculate SLAs for preparation and shipment.

  • Assign specific users and teams for smooth workflows.

2. How to Add a Warehouse

Accessing the Warehouse Management Page

  • Navigate to Home → Management → Warehouses in the OTO dashboard.

  • Click the Add Warehouse button (blue button) to begin.

The setup is broken into four steps, each tailored to help you configure every detail of your warehouse.

3. Step-by-Step Warehouse Setup

Step 1: Location

  • Warehouse Name: Give your warehouse a unique name for easy identification.

  • Warehouse Code: Assign a short code for streamlined management.

  • Country: Select the country where your warehouse is located.

  • Address Options:

    • Enter a Short Address Code/National Address, or

    • Use Manual Address Entry, or

    • Select the address via Google Maps for precise geolocation.

  • Invoice Address: Toggle this if the invoice address differs from the operational address.

Pro Tip: Using Google Maps ensures precise delivery routes and minimizes location errors.

Step 2: Contact Info

  • Sender Name: The name associated with outgoing shipments.

  • Sender Email: An email address for shipment-related correspondence.

  • Mobile Number: A contact number for operational communication.

  • Serving Radius: Define the warehouse's service range in kilometers.

  • Automatically Create Shipments: Enable this toggle to streamline outgoing order processes.

  • Brand Name: Assign a brand to this warehouse for better organization.

  • OTO Flex Drivers: Add drivers from the OTO Flex pool to this warehouse for specific delivery assignments.

Step 3: Working Hours

  • Day-Specific Hours: Customize operating hours for each day of the week.

  • Shift-Based Operations: Add multiple shifts for days with split working hours using the Add New Row button.

  • Enable/Disable Days: Toggle working days on or off as needed.

Key Use Case: Defining precise working hours ensures accurate SLA calculations and avoids delivery delays.

Step 4: OTO PACK Settings

  • Accessible Users: Assign specific warehouse users who can manage operations in this warehouse.

  • Auto Picker Team Assignment (Exclusive for OTO PACK Advanced Users):

    • If you’re an OTO PACK Advanced user, you can enable this toggle to automate picker team assignments, saving valuable time and ensuring tasks are allocated efficiently.

    • Once enabled, the Picker Team field appears, allowing you to assign a picker team after the warehouse and team have been created.

Note: Auto Picker Team Assignment is a premium feature designed to simplify and enhance complex operations. It’s your go-to tool for warehouses handling high volumes or requiring advanced task delegation.

4. Reviewing Your Configuration

Before finalizing, take a moment to:

  • Double-check all details, from location to working hours.

  • Ensure user access and picker team assignments align with your workflow.

  • Confirm that the serving radius and contact information are accurate.

Once satisfied, click Add, and your warehouse is ready to go!

Conclusion

Your warehouse is now configured and ready to power your operations! By following this guide, you’ve laid the groundwork for smooth logistics, accurate inventory tracking, and on-time order fulfillment.
