After splitting, the system generates new order IDs to maintain clear tracking and accountability.
How to Use the Feature
Step-by-Step Instructions
Prerequisites:
Ensure you are logged in with appropriate permissions to manage orders.
The order must be in the Pending Orders tab to use the "Split Order" feature.
Steps to Split an Order:
Navigate to the Shipments Section:
Open the "Shipments" tab from the sidebar.
Ensure the target order is in the Pending Orders tab.
Select the Order to Split:
Locate the specific order you want to split.
Click the checkbox next to the order to select it.
Access the "Split Order" Option:
Click the Orders dropdown menu at the top of the shipment list.
Select Split Order from the dropdown options.
Customize the Split:
In the Order Split window:
Adjust the quantities for the new orders in the "New Orders" column.
The system will automatically calculate the new order totals and adjust the original order ID.
Save the Split:
Once all adjustments are made, click Save to finalize the split.
A confirmation message will appear, and new order IDs will be generated (e.g., -1, -2 suffixes).

Scenario: Partial Shipment for Stock Shortage
Situation: A customer orders two products, but one is out of stock.
Action: Use the "Split Order" feature to create a separate shipment for the in-stock item, allowing immediate dispatch.
Result: The in-stock item is shipped promptly, and the backordered item remains in the original order.
